5 min read

Introduction

Europe is a great destination for many reasons, including its rich history, amazing food and culture. But if you’re looking to add even more to your next European vacation, you might want to consider attending one of the many incredible festivals that take place in Europe every year. From music festivals like Tomorrowland and Lollapalooza to film festivals like Toronto International Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival (which is actually held outside of France in other countries), there are so many options out there!

Festival Of The White Nights In St. Petersburg

  • What is it?

The Festival of the White Nights is a cultural festival that takes place in St. Petersburg every year. The event occurs from May 1 until July 31 and features hundreds of shows, concerts and performances taking place all over the city during this time period. It’s basically Europe’s answer to New York City’s Broadway Theater District!

  • When is it?

The date varies depending on how long you want to stay in St. Petersburg (which we recommend).

  • Where is it?

St Petersburg, Russia

Oktoberfest Munich

In the fall, you can’t help but feel a little bit of Oktoberfest in the air. While it’s not quite as big as its German counterpart, Munich’s annual beer festival is still one of the most famous events in Europe and has been going on for over 200 years.

The first Oktoberfest was held on October 12, 1810 at the end of Bavaria’s “good harvest” season (Oktober). In those days it was known as “The October Festival” or “October Fair.” Over time it grew into one of Europe’s largest fairground festivals with millions attending each year during its 16-day run from late September through early October–and now even longer!

Taste Of Chicago

The Taste of Chicago is a food festival held annually in Grant Park, Chicago. It is the largest outdoor food festival in North America and one of the longest running festivals in the country. The event features live music performances from local musicians as well as national acts like Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder.

In 2020 it will take place from July 15th through 20th with over 2 million people attending each year!

The Venice Film Festival

One of the most beautiful festivals in Europe is the Venice Film Festival. It’s held every year, and it’s been going on since 1932. The festival was founded by Count Giuseppe Volpi di Misurata in 1932 as a competition between national cinemas with no awards given; during World War II, it was cancelled for three years but resumed again in 1946.

The festival has grown over time to include international competitions for feature films (Golden Lion), short films (Volpi Cup) and documentaries (Orizzonti). The festival also includes various non-competitive events including: workshops; an art exhibition; an open air cinema on Lido Island; screenings at Palazzo del Cinema and other venues across Venice throughout August/September each year.

Nuit Blanche – Paris

Nuit Blanche is a night-long art festival that takes place every year in Paris. It’s free to attend and lasts for one night, usually in October or November.

The festival is known for its large scale installations by contemporary artists all over the city center, including the Place de la Concorde and Champs Elysees Avenue. Most importantly though, Nuit Blanche is a great opportunity for you to explore new parts of Paris that you haven’t seen before! If you’re traveling solo or with friends (or even better: both), this event is perfect for you because there are plenty of activities happening throughout each neighborhood so no matter what kind of person you are there will always be something interesting nearby!

Milan Fashion Week

Milan Fashion Week is the world’s most important fashion week, and it’s held twice a year: first in September and second in January. The event attracts thousands of attendees from all over the globe who come to see some of their favorite designers showcase their latest collections.

The event is open only to buyers, press and VIPs–so if you’re not one of those three groups (and don’t have tickets), then you’ll have no choice but to watch online or wait until next season!

Edinburgh Fringe Festival

The largest arts festival in the world, this celebration of the best of the Edinburgh Fringe has been taking place since 1947. It takes place during August and includes over 3,500 shows by more than 100,000 performers from across the globe.

The festival attracts over 1 million people each year who come together to enjoy comedy acts, drama performances, dance routines and everything in between – all while experiencing some of Europe’s most beautiful cities!

Salsa Open 2020 – Alicante, Spain

Salsa Open 2020 is a popular international salsa competition. It is held in Alicante, Spain every year and it’s a great way for you to learn more about salsa dancing and meet new people who share your passion for this popular dance form.

The competition lasts for two days: the first one is dedicated to qualifying rounds where dancers compete against each other; on the second day there will be finals where only winners from previous day compete again but now with judges’ scores included as well.
