5 What I’ve Learned from the Most Diverse Cities in America

Introduction

Traveling is one of my favorite pastimes. I love visiting new places and exploring the world, but sometimes it’s hard to know what cities to visit. One way I decide where to go is by looking at diversity statistics for major cities in America. Here are five U.S. cities that are well-known for being diverse:

Grand Rapids, Michigan

“Grand Rapids is the second-largest city in Michigan, and it’s also one of the most economically diverse cities in America,” says local resident Sarah Hannah. “We have a rich culture here,” she adds. “We have museums, art galleries and parks–a lot of green spaces where people can gather.”

In addition to being home to several cultural festivals throughout the year (including ArtPrize), Grand Rapids has long been recognized as one of America’s best cities for young professionals due to its low cost of living compared with other major metropolitan areas like Chicago or New York City.

Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Baton Rouge is the capital city of Louisiana, and it has a population of 225,000. It’s also home to Louisiana State University (LSU). The city is known for its Southern cuisine and culture, which can be seen in its historic homes and buildings that date back to its founding days. Many people come here to visit the Louisiana State Capitol building or enjoy festivals like Mardi Gras or Jazz Fest–both held annually at Tiger Stadium on campus!

Springfield, Missouri

Springfield is the third-largest city in Missouri and a major railroad hub. It’s also home to Missouri State University, which has over 23,000 students enrolled.

Springfield has a rich history that includes being the birthplace of Route 66 and having hosted Abraham Lincoln during his early political career. The city is also known for its vibrant arts community; it has more than 60 galleries showcasing everything from local artists to international exhibitions at sites like The George Caleb Bingham Gallery (which houses one of America’s most famous paintings).

Omaha, Nebraska

Omaha, Nebraska

The largest city in Nebraska and the county seat of Douglas County, Omaha is also one of the nation’s 50 most populous metropolitan areas. It has a population of 408,958 according to the 2010 census.

Phoenix, Arizona

Phoenix, Arizona is the most populous city in the American Southwest. It’s also a major transportation hub for the region–Sky Harbor International Airport is the busiest airport in Arizona and 9th busiest airport in the United States.

If you want to work on your tan while commuting, this may be your ideal destination!

Diverse cities to visit in America

  • New York City: If you’re looking for the most diverse city in America, look no further than New York City. This metropolis has something for everyone and offers an endless array of experiences. From world-class museums to Broadway shows, there’s something here for everyone–and that includes food! Whether it’s pizza or bagels (or both), these delicious dishes are sure to satisfy even the pickiest eaters.
  • Los Angeles: Known as “The Entertainment Capital of the World,” LA has long been home to some of our favorite celebrities like Jennifer Aniston, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt–to name just a few. But did you know there are plenty more stars who call this city home? You’ll find them all over Hollywood Boulevard where tourists flock each year hoping for a chance encounter with one their favorites at Madame Tussauds Wax Museum or Universal Studios Hollywood Theme Park Resort where there are daily celebrity appearances throughout summer months only days before opening day each year since 2012 when Universal Studios Florida announced plans build another theme park next door named Volcano Bay Water Theme Park (which opened April 17th 2018).

Conclusion

We hope you enjoyed our list of the most diverse cities in America. We know there are more cities out there that deserve to be on this list, but we wanted to focus on places where people from different backgrounds can live side by side without feeling like outsiders. Our goal is for everyone who visits these locations–whether they’re locals or tourists–to feel welcome and comfortable no matter where they come from or what language they speak!
